Celtic captain Callum McGregor has been speaking to BBC Scotland from the Scotland training camp in Germany as Steve Clarke’s squad get their preparations underway for Friday’s Euro 2024 opener in Munich against hosts Germany.
And there would have been a point in March when Calmac might have thought he’d be watching these Scotland games at the Euros on television rather than sitting explaining how he managed to make to squad after receiving extremely bad news from the scan on his achilles injury that basically meant that the Celtic captain’s season was over.

Basically his season was over
Maybe for most players but not for Calmac. Through sheer determination and hard-work was able to overcome the injury to defy the medical advice and return to action not just for the Euro 2024 campaign that gets underway this Friday, but also for the business end of the season, so that he was there to lead Celtic to a brilliant league and cup double.
Scott Brown mentored Callum McGregor as a future Celtic captain and what a job he did. Now watch his shine at the Euro 2024 campaign for Scotland.
