Scotland exited the Euros in fairly calamitous fashion after a late Hungary goal confined the side to bottom of the group. Going into the game, Scotland knew that they needed to win but despite controlling the ball, Steve Clarke’s side failed to create.
Stuart Armstrong appeared to be fouled by Orban in the box but the officials waved play on. Bizarrely, the decision remained and the game would enter the agonising final stages with Scotland desperately probing for an opening. Unfortunately, as the game neared its 100th minute, Hungary broke up the pitch and scored to settle the affair.
It was a sore one for all involved but hopefully the team can use it as encouragement for their next campaign.
