Trophy Day – Will we see a host of changes today?

Will we see a host of changes today? Possibly as it’s the sensible thing to do. Today is party time as we flock to paradise to celebrate three in a row.

Our opponents are St Mirren and with the title already in the bag, and the Buddies having already secured European qualification, the game itself is something of a dead rubber.

One eye on Scottish Cup Final

Of course we will want to put on a show and prove our title winning credentials as well as keeping confidence high for next weekend’s Scottish cup final. However we also don’t want to risk any unnecessary injuries or suspensions for the challenge lying in wait at Hampden next Saturday afternoon.

The challenges that lie in wait

I think Brendan will shuffle the pack a little with that in mind, and maybe the likes of CCV, Reo Hatate, Matt O’Riley, Daizen Maeda and Kyogo might get a little respite and be named amongst the substitutes to keep them fresh for the challenges that lie in wait at the national stadium.

We don’t want to field an entire ‘weakened’ side as we will want to keep the winning momentum and confidence going, but there’s got to be a balancing act due to the importance of next week’s game.

Expect some changes today with thoughts very much on next week, it’s only natural and entirely understandable.
