Elena Sadiku held her media conference yesterday ahead of the first of three matches in a week which Celtic FC Women need to win to be SWPL1 Champions.
The three opponents standing in the way for a historic first ever title for Celtic FC Women are Partick Thistle on Sunday at the Excelsior Stadium in Airdrie, then a midweek trip to Edinburgh to take on Hearts before a home match at Celtic Park a week on Sunday where Hibs will provide the opposition.
Live on BBC Alba
Celtic FC Women are currently top, level on points with theRangers but with a significant goal difference advantage of plus 13. And Elena Sadiku’s side will need to increase that further in the early kick-off against Partick Thistle on Sunday lunchtime. Kick-off is 12.10pm and the game is live on BBC Alba if you can’t make it along to Airdrie.
Ghirls training ahead of the match against Partick Thistle
And if Celtic can get among the goals to build the goal difference as much as possible that will increase the pressure of Jo Potter’s side who play current SWPL Champions Glasgow City later in the day at the tricky Petershill Park. That one is also live on BBC Alba with a 4.10pm kick-off.
The toughest match is likely to be the game on Wednesday night away to Hearts and that is also being shown live on the BBC.
