Former Celtic winger Gary Mackay-Steven has signed a new contract with Kilmarnock. The 33-year-old put pen to paper on a new one year deal to extend his time at Rugby Park as Derek McInnes’ side prepare for a crack at Europe.
Celtic signed GMS alongside his teammate and pal, Stuart Armstrong at the end of the winter transfer window in 2015. Under Ronny Deila, he made 51 appearances, scoring ten times and assisting on 11 occasions; however, under Rodgers, he made just 11 appearances and neither scored nor assisted, which hastened his departure to Aberdeen.
The winger won five trophies during his time at Celtic, including the Invincible Treble from Rodgers’ first season in his first stint in charge.
