Daniel Kelly rejects Celtic contract offer but both parties keen on deal

Celtic midfielder Daniel Kelly has reportedly rejected the club’s initial contract offer. However, the club and the 18-year-old’s representatives remain in discussions over a deal with both parties said to be keen on a deal.

According to Sky Sports’ Anthony Joseph, the youngster has rejected the club’s first offer as the terms continue thrashing out a deal.

Kelly made his debut at the start of the year in the Scottish Cup win over Buckie Thistle and then scored on his league debut against Dundee in February. Brendan Rodgers appears to rate the youngster highly and has continued to give him first team exposure as they look to build the midfielder into the next first team member that was produced by the club’s academy.
