Celtic midfielder Daniel Kelly has reportedly rejected the club’s initial contract offer. However, the club and the 18-year-old’s representatives remain in discussions over a deal with both parties said to be keen on a deal.

According to Sky Sports’ Anthony Joseph, the youngster has rejected the club’s first offer as the terms continue thrashing out a deal.

UPDATE: Celtic midfielder Daniel Kelly has knocked back an initial contract offer from the club, but remains in talks over a new deal.

Both parties are still keen to agree terms.

His current deal expires on Dec 31 & he could enter pre-contract talks with other clubs in July. https://t.co/VIx4r6G0qr

Kelly made his debut at the start of the year in the Scottish Cup win over Buckie Thistle and then scored on his league debut against Dundee in February. Brendan Rodgers appears to rate the youngster highly and has continued to give him first team exposure as they look to build the midfielder into the next first team member that was produced by the club’s academy.
