25th May is the most special date in the history of Celtic Football Club, today we can celebrate the Lisbon Lions achievements by winning the Scottish Cup final at Hampden Park against theRangers…

Today is May the 25th, a very special date in the history of Celtic football club. It’s of course the   anniversary of the club’s greatest ever achievement, the day the Lisbon Lions legend was born when Jock Stein’s Celtic side achieved instant immortality as they won the European Cup in the Portuguese capital, defeating Inter Milan 2-1 in the 1967 final.

Today also happens to be Scottish Cup Final day, with the small matter of our opponents being theRangers.

Of course a win won’t be up there with that day in Lisbon. Nowhere near it, but it’s still important all the same. It’s the first ever Glasgow Derby in the Scottish Cup Final, and it’s one we all want to win.

Lifting the league trophy last week has whetted our appetite for yet more success, and today we hope to celebrate once more by making it a double to finish the season in style.

So let’s hope and pray that the players go out and play to their full capabilities and bring home the Scottish Cup for the 42nd time, making this May the 25th yet another notable day in the club’s illustrious and unbroken history.
