Kieran Tierney’s response to whether he will ever move back to Celtic

The former Celtic full-back, Kieran Tierney has responded to whether he will ever reunite with his former Glasgow club, Celtic. Over the years, Celtic has always maintained a vast pool of fantastic players adored by the Celtic support, with players such as Kyogo, Callum Mcgregor, and Reo Hatate currently among the most idolised in the club. Through the years, countless different talented players have pulled on a Celtic jersey to play for the Parkhead side, with names such as Henrik Larsson and Shunsuke Nakamura coming to mind.

Kieran Tierney’s Celtic Career

In more recent times, we can look to Kieran Tierney as a shining example of the calibre of player Celtic can produce. Coming through the academy at seven years old before rising to prominence at Parkhead, the Scotland international made 170 appearances for his boyhood club in all competitions, whilst securing eight goals and 37 assists.

2019 saw Tierney make a big money move away from the Hoops to join the Premier League side, Arsenal for a sum of £25 million. His time at the English Giants has been rather rocky, however, which prompted many to believe that he would make his return to Parkhead last Summer. This wasn’t to be the case though, as Tierney opted to move to the Spanish club, Real Sociedad on a Summer loan.

Will Tierney Ever Return?

Speaking onTalkSport, Tierney responded to Jim White’s question of whether he could ever ‘see a time that he will pull on the shirt and be back at Celtic again?’

Tierney responded by saying…

“Who knows? You never know in football; it’s a connection that I’ll always have, somewhere I imagine I’ll always be linked with if I’m to move from any club, so you never know.”

While Tierney never got fully into his stride at Arsenal, it will be interesting to see what happens when his loan to Real Sociedad comes to an end. It is no secret that Tierney has a soft spot for the Hoops, so perhaps a move back to Celtic isn’t as far away as we think.
