More exclusive photographs to present this evening to Celtic supporters reading Celtic Shorts. Earlier this week we showed you photographs of the new North Stand in the days before it was officially opened and the you saw the first Celtic supporters take their seats on our new Paradise.
Little could they have imagined the successes that would follow in the next three decades.
Yesterday we also showed you some long forgotten match day photographs from the opening weeks of the 1975/76 season as Celtic played Aberdeen at home and Hearts at Tynecastle in the League Cup section August 1975.
There were also photographs of the Rangers v Celtic match at Ibrox (end August 1975) and Dundee at home (early September 1975), these were the opening two League games in the SPL 19-team League era.
Tom Grant’s loft
All these photographs, around 800 in total were in print or slide format and were up in former Celtic Director Tom Grant’s loft, completely forgotten. During a house move these were discovered by Tom who kindly passed to us to digitalise and the share with Celtic supporters. That task took a few months and we are now able to share them with the Celtic support.
Inside the North Stand
The batch we are showing this evening features photos from inside the North Stand just as it’s ready to seat supporters. And there are some from outside the stadium plus a few on the tunnel as work is carried out there too. As always these are fascinating for many supporters and we hope that you will enjoy.
