Some echoes of his first spell at the club when he arrived with Leigh Griffiths scoring 40 goals to win the league the season before. Rodgers made a similar observation then and went on to transform the team he had inherited from Ronny Deila into Invincible Treble winners. The support will settle for Double winners this season, Brendan!
Talking of the Celtic support the manager had this to say, via Celtic TV, about the backing the team received from the Celtic fans last night.
“I must say a big congratulations to the supporters because we are here to entertain them and we need their backing and encouragement. At half-time the reception we got filled us with great pride. A Wednesday night in front of a full house is great.”
