Celtic striker Kasper Hogh has spoke of his faith, and how it keeps him going when times get tough…

The Danish international became Celtic’s record signing when he signed in an £11 million plus move from Bodo/Glimt during the summer transfer window.

After getting off to a slowish start, the forward who netted five goals in last season’s Champions League group stage, soon showed his class in a 5-1 route of Kilmarnock at Rugby Park, as he scored an impressive first half hat trick.

Since then, he’s experienced something of a lull in form, and like the rest of his teammates the big Dane is currently facing some serious criticism in the wake of three consecutive losses, with two of them coming against bitter rivals the Rangers.

However Hogh has spoke openly of his development as a person which he reckons has stood him in good stead for playing for a huge club like Celtic, and all the challenges that brings.

In an interview with Danish magazine Euroman, which focused on his religion, the 25-year-old said of his move: “It’s been a huge experience. Celtic is a huge club. Everything is just bigger. There are more fans and there are more people watching you.

“Of course, it’s always difficult to move to a new country, but I think this is really good for my development as a person. When I had to make the leap from Denmark to Norway, I had problems because of the anxiety that was deep inside me.

“But now I’m in a completely different situation. I’ve found peace in God, I have a wonderful girlfriend who has moved in with me, and I still have great support from my family and friends.

“I was also ready to experience something new. I wanted to get out of my comfort zone . And that’s why this change is perfect for me right now.”

Hopefully Kasper and his Celtic teammates will be able to regroup after the international break and prove their critics wrong by finding some form with the Danis striker rediscovering his goalscoring form alongside Camilo Duran.

The Celtic front line certainly looks formidable on paper but it’s now time to deliver where it matters most, on the park.
