Kasper Høgh’s search for momentum continued on international duty as the Celtic striker earned another senior appearance for Denmark in their 3-2 Nations League defeat to Norway. The attacker will be hoping to be involved on Sunday as the Danes face Wales.

Høgh was introduced in the 82nd minute, replacing Manchester United striker Rasmus Højlund as Denmark attempted to find a way back into the contest.

The Celtic number nine was given only a brief opportunity to influence proceedings and was unable to register a goal or assist, although his latest appearance provided another indication that he remains firmly within Denmark’s international plans.

Danish outlet Tipsbladet declined to award Høgh a match rating because of his limited time on the pitch, simply recording: “For kort tid på banen” – “Too little time on the pitch.”

From a Celtic perspective, there remains encouragement in seeing Høgh continuing to collect experience at international level and competing for minutes alongside established options in the Danish attack.

The striker has endured a more difficult period following an impressive start to life in Glasgow, but Denmark’s continued willingness to involve him underlines his standing within the national set-up.

For Celtic, the hope will be that those international minutes can help Høgh rediscover his sharpest form when domestic football resumes.
