The Hoops have been searching for reinforcements on both sides of defence, with cover for Kieran Tierney at left-back among the priorities while Alistair Johnston’s injury has also highlighted the need for another option on the right.
Chelsea youngster Landon Emenalo had appeared to be Celtic’s leading left-back target, but that proposed move has gone quiet in recent days.
However, Sky Sports reporter Anthony Joseph now reports that Celtic have agreed a permanent deal with Feyenoord for Lotomba.
The 27-year-old has been given permission to travel to Glasgow to undergo a medical and complete the formalities of his move to Parkhead.
Lotomba’s versatility could prove particularly valuable to O’Neill, with the Switzerland international capable of operating at both right-back and left-back.
Celtic will now hope to get the deal over the line quickly, with the deadline to register their squad for the Europa League league phase falling at 10.59pm UK time tonight.

Certainly a signing that is required, especially for our europa league campaign imo?
As Taylor isn’t in the equation now, we can only register 24 players now?
Could say 25 even if Donovan will be listed as a B listed player?
Still think MoN has to decide between Shim and Osmand for the 3rd striker role?
Believe Sam and Ollie will be included in our finalised squad also imo?
So overall we are potentially at 23 of our 24 squad positions filled as such?
Not totally clear if that last position is going to be filled tonight, as MoN may well want to leave a position vacant, for any further incoming players, or even AJ or jota?
MoN preferred option within his 20man SPFL match day squad, has only included 2 defensive options as subs?
Maybe MoN wants to keep that intact with a CB and full back available from the bench? Which in turn would mean Lotomba is an important signing for our Scottish campaign especially, even if we had a fully fit squad in place imo?
Donovan was doing such a role before AJ got injured, and no longer think MoN is that comfortable in having Ralston do such a role any longer, in able to cover both full back positions, within a 20man SPFL match day squad imo?
On the bigger picture, Lotomba may well become the replacement for AJ also?
Only time will tell, but potentially a very useful signing, and hopefully fills the quality factor also?
