Ahead of the 7.30pm kick-off, the Scottish Champions will watch as the Premiership flag is raised for the 14th time in 15 years as Celtic’s generation of domination continues.

While the Celtic squad for this season is very much still at the work in progress with players heading in and out over the next few weeks, this evening is all about the getting off to a winning start, something that neither Hearts or the Rangers could manage.

The latest Ibrox club were lucky to escape from Tannadice with a point while Hearts were falling apart again in the closing stages up at Pittodrie and are now complaining about referees all over again. Disgusting describes it rather well.

Back to this evening and Martin O’Neill starts with Viljami Sinisalo in goals behind a back four of Alistair Johnston, Cameron Carter-Vickers, Auston Trusty and Kieran Tierney.

In the middle of the park the Celtic captain Callum McGregor is joined by both Arne Engels and Benjamin Nygren while there are competitive debuts for both Camilo Duran and Kasper Hogh while Celtic’s Yang gets the nod for the right wing.

A reminder that Liam Scales will be missing this evening and also for the visit to Rugby Park next week as he serves his two match suspension.

Subs: Doohan, Donovan, Ralston, Murray, McCowan, Oxlade-Chaberlain, Hatate, Tounekti, Osmand, Forrest.
