Mika Baur has admitted the Celtic Park atmosphere was even better than he imagined after enjoying a dream first start for the Hoops.

The £7million summer signing was handed his full Celtic debut by Martin O’Neill in Wednesday night’s crucial Champions League play-off against LASK, just a week after completing his move from Paderborn.
Baur produced an assured display in the middle of the park as Celtic claimed an impressive 3-0 victory to take a commanding advantage to Austria for Tuesday’s second leg.
And after hearing plenty about the famous Celtic Park atmosphere before his arrival, the German midfielder admitted experiencing it for himself was on another level.
Baur told TNT Sports on the atmosphere: “The crowd was so loud from the beginning; we did a brilliant job.
“So yeah, unbelievable.
“It was even better to feel it in real life; not through everyone talking. It was unbelievable. The feeling, the atmosphere, the energy… it helped us a lot.
“We had some tactical stuff and everything, but [O’Neill and staff] just told me to be me and play the game, help the team fight.
“I think I did good today.”
Baur also reserved special praise for Celtic captain Callum McGregor, revealing how the 33-year-old has helped him settle into O’Neill’s midfield.
On McGregor, Baur continued: “He’s so important. He’s at the centre of everything.
“Also, for me, he gives some tips and helps me a lot to feel comfortable in this system and in the team. I’m so thankful for that.”
