Martin O’Neill last night described his first summer signing Camilo Duran as ‘world class’ after the Colombian’s impressive performance, scoring a brace in the 3-0 Champions League Playoff win over Austrian Champions LASK at Celtic Park…
Martin was blown away by the £6 million man’s performance last night and said Camilo is a brilliant player and we are so happy to have him.
“He was magnificent. I’m not saying he’s world class at this minute but that was a world-class performance from him. I mean that in every sense – the goals, his attacking play and his work in getting back to defend.”
The Celtic manager was also delighted with the win, but urged a word of caution to those who believe the tie is finished, and is still wary of the threat that the Austrians pose.
“It was a great win for us and we have given ourselves a chance. But LASK are a very good side and we still have our work cut out to get through,” the Celtic manager said, adding: “That was a really tough evening for us. We won 3-0 against a good team. We knew they had a lot of pace and talent, and they showed that.
“It felt like a game of basketball in the first half and they started so well with the disallowed goal. It took us ten to 15 minutes to get into our stride.
“It was very back and forward but we have scored three goals in the end – and that helps. We are capable of scoring over there and that could be key in the end, as they are a very fine side.
“That was a great result for us but we still have a long, long way to go. However, I believe we can conjure goals now after wondering where they were going to come from at times last season.
“The clean sheet was also very important for us.”

In fairness we have been in the shoes of Lask on many occasions within European football?
Not converting guilt edge chances, especially when on the receiving end of fantastic and clinical finishing at the other end of the pitch?
So of course MoN remains cautious at present, because it’s still fairly amazing how we managed to keep a clean sheet imo?
Regardless, we are still only a team getting up to speed, with the demands of European football.
Still only forming stability, which would have helped massively last night, within our all round performance.
The fitness levels will increase for many of our players, with been involved in such a high tempo match from start to finish.
We may have only 16 players we really want to see this tie out, but can’t fault the commitment and desire, along with the team spirit, still remaining so strong within our squad imo?
All the makings of what good teams require, and with that extra quality factor added now, we certainly are heading in the right direction again?
Lask have to play catch up football now, which is always dangerous, with the attacking threat that we have in operation, that’s in place for a full 90 minutes and beyond now?
So there is goals within our team, and a growing confidence of chances actually getting converted, which has been our downfall in many a European campaign?
Won’t be easy by any means to finish the job off, but still believe that there’s to much about our team, to let such an advantage slip through our fingers also imo?
Duran is a inside left play him there he will score 30/40 a season we need to keep all of them no selling now,we could do with there number 8 to CELTIC in this window?.
