Kasper Hogh will come good, anyone doubting that is seriously mistaken

Kasper Hogh will be a standout performer for Celtic this season

Kasper Hogh made his Celtic debut in Monday evenings 1-0 win over Dundee at Celtic Park, and although it wasn’t exactly a stand out performance, our latest Great Dane showed that he has the talent and the presence to be a huge success in a Celtic shirt…

The £11 million man, despite spurning a couple of half decent chances, stood out in a forward line that’s missed a serious presence for quite some time.

Viljami Sinisalo continually tried to find Hogh

It was notable a few times during Monday evenings clash we watched Viljami Sinisalo ignore the norm in the tiring, predictable passing the ball to his defenders, and instead proceeded to go more direct by laying the ball right up the pitch with Kasper the intended target, and although the Dundee defence kept him relatively quiet, you could tell that he’s going to be a great asset to the club.

Some folk seem to forget that this was his first appearance for the club after signing just last week. It’s natural that he’ll need time to bed in, and the more he plays in a hoops jersey the more familiar he’ll get with his teammates, including fellow new signing Camilo Duran, who looks like a player that Kasper can develop a terrific partnership with over time.

Kasper Hogh criticism after one game is unfair and also daft

The sooner Martin O’Neill can get the two playing together as a partnership the better it will be, we just need to sign a couple of first pick wingers for that to happen.

Unsurprisingly, the Scottish mainstream media have piled the pressure on Kasper, suggesting he’s a ‘flop’ after just one appearance for the Scottish 5IAR Champions.

Maybe not as unsurprising, but certainly more disappointing is that some Celtic supporters have turned on our new record signing, as they rush to judge him after his first appearance for the club.

Kasper Hogh is a proven goalscorer at the highest level

Kasper Hogh isn’t a ‘project’ signing. He’s a fully proven player and goalscorer at the highest level of European football and I suspect we may see that for ourselves in the upcoming Champions League qualifier matches against Austrian Champions LASK.

Having played his football in Norway where plastic pitches are the norm, Kasper admitted that he’ll have to get used to playing on grass. It’s ironic that our next game is away to Kilmarnock who have now replaced their own plastic pitch with a hybrid grass surface. When we go to Falkirk, Kasper will be well suited to their surface and that will bring its own advantages.

    Bet Kasper scores on Sunday!

After a few games in the Hoops, Kasper Hogh will soon be up to the frantic pace of Scottish football, and he’ll be doing what he does best, and that’s of course scoring goals. Bet he gets one on Sunday!

I Witnessed my first Celtic game in 1988 and have attended when I can ever since. Growing up in the 90s I witnessed Celtic at their lowest, and now appreciate the historic success we enjoy today. I enjoy writing about this wonderful football club and hopefully will continue to do so. I’ve always been a keen writer and initially started this a hobby. My ambition is to one day become as good an author as my fellow Celtic Shorts colleagues.

Don’t believe that there will be any issues regarding Hogh as a player with ourselves whatsoever imo?

Also rate Duran very highly as a player Also? But looking better in a more central position, than being stuck out in the wide right position?
So can MoN, find the solutions to getting both Hogh and Duran within the starting line-up, to make us more effective in an attacking sence?

Might get a better indication this weekend, but already suspect that we may well have to change our shape, in order to accommodate both Hogh and Duran into a starting team?
But that potentially could effect nygren, who can only really operate behind a striker in the no10 role really imo?

Having Hogh, Duran and Osmand, offers us very decent options within the striker position. But the quality factor is still lacking within our wider areas, in order to make our strikers to become more effective at present?
But, we are only 1 game into a season, and the quality factor isn’t in question, especially while the understanding elements are only trying to get formed?

Regardless, MoN will still be looking for solutions, in order to make our attacking options more effective, and a new wide option is still required, and hopefully boosted with the return of jota at some point?

Whether a change to team shape will be applied or a more rotational policy for the striker position isn’t determined yet?
But with only 2 games available before the CL qualification matches, it’s certainly something MoN will have to give plenty of thought about trying to find the solutions, all the same imo?

Only those who have never kicked a ball in earnest could make such a daft judgement.
