Celtic have unveiled their squad numbers for the 2026/27 campaign, but the omission of Johnny Kenny has immediately sparked fresh questions over the striker’s future.
The updated list, published via the Celtic App ahead of the Premiership opener against Dundee, confirms the shirt allocations for Martin O’Neill’s squad heading into the new season.
Record summer signing Kasper Hogh will wear the iconic No.9 jersey following his £11 million arrival from Bodo/Glimt, while winger Camilo Duran has been assigned the No.11 shirt.
One notable absentee from the published list is Kenny, with the Republic of Ireland forward not allocated a squad number.
The 23-year-old featured regularly during the opening months of last season before joining Bolton Wanderers on loan in January, where he netted six times as the English club secured promotion to the Championship.
Bolton remain keen to strike a permanent deal for the attacker before the transfer window shuts, and his absence from Celtic’s squad number list is likely to fuel further speculation over a summer departure.
Kenny was also missing from the matchday squad for the league opener against Dundee and did not play any part during pre-season.
