The Green Brigade’s return to their customary place in the North Curve has brought a familiar atmosphere back to Celtic Park.
The supporters’ group spent much of last season absent from the stands after an initial three-match suspension imposed in November was extended until the closing weeks of the campaign.
The standoff became one of the biggest off-field stories of the season, prompting a supporter boycott before Celtic eventually reinstated the group ahead of the decisive title run-in.
Many supporters argued the enhanced atmosphere generated by the Green Brigade played a significant role as Martin O’Neill’s side clinched the Premiership, and the ultras wasted little time making their feelings known during flag day.

A banner aimed at the club highlighted the group’s ongoing frustration over supporter sanctions, reading: “New season, same s—e.”
“End the bans.”
The Green Brigade later unveiled another display reflecting the values they have consistently promoted, featuring words from legendary former Celtic manager Willie Maley.
The banner stated: “It is not the creed, nor his nationality that matters. It is the man himself.
“Celtic FC, anti-racist since 1888.”
The latest protest relates to fresh sanctions imposed over the summer on a number of supporters, despite around 250 members of the group having previously been permitted to return to Celtic Park.

Green brigade is 5,000 or less they maybe love seeing there banners on tv but I’m sure just like me The other 50,odd thousands of they other fans are fed up with there constant banners for they forget the forced abda out others don’t what is it with them go to a football ground to see football not all this lo e thy fellow man shite it takes the atmosphere out of the game players see it and wonder how the banners saying come one the celts want a bee politicians that nobody wants but there wee group
