Celtic’s pursuit of Gineitis in jeopardy, conflicting reports on Sigur, Brian Wilson’s broken promises and the Ross Desmond WhatsApp rumour…
It’s been reported that Celtic look to be shifting their signing policy in the wake of the disastrous and humiliating defeat in Linz, a loss which seen the club miss out on a big money bonanza. The current Celtic Board has now cost the club around £80m due to their failures in adequately strengthening the squad for the last two Champions League playoffs.
It’s now believed that bids for long term target Gvidas Gineitis of Torino is now in the balance, due to the catastrophic failure to overcome LASK despite at one point leading 4-0 on aggregate.
The 22 year old Lithuanian international was said to be a top target of Martin O’Neill, as the veteran Irishman looks to fill the void left by Arne Engels departure to West Ham, who was under contract at Celtic yet was allowed to leave as those in the boardroom eyed the £££s on offer.

Despite receiving £25 million for the Belgian international, it seems that the club are looking to cut back on big money signings after being denied access to the Champions League millions, yet again, due to their own inactions, and the policy towards European ‘participation’ that Ross Desmond read out on behalf of his daddy at the Celtic AGM last November.

But Croatian outlet Index are now reporting that the Belgian side have met the club’s asking price, and Hadjuk will evaluate the bid following their Conference League second leg clash with Raków Częstochowa on Thursday. It is noted that the Canadian international is “expected” to move before the end of the window.
There are conflicting reports on Celtic’s position here regarding Niko Sigur, even among the Celtic fan media sites. Missing out on both players would represent a major blow to Martin O’Neill, who badly requires new recruits to bolster his low on quality midfield, low on quality midfield.
The Celtic manager also needs cover at both fullback positions with only Kieran Tierney being available at left back and injury prone Alistair Johnston sidelined yet again, this time until October at the earliest.
Celtic’s Europa League campaign will be one when each and every Celtic supporter will have to make their own decision on and if the chequebook is put away due to the collapse in Linz – and LASK thoroughly deserved to win the tie – then next summer you’ll get what you pay for by buying those second tier tickets.

It’s always the same from the top , promises are made to placate the supporters, the managers always have to face the consequences.. Time after time , words words words. We need action , strategy and a change to those with the tin. Even the former club is recruiting at pace, time will tell if it’s quality. MON saved our season and again there were very poor decisions made about who they appointed mid term . BR left because he could see the managed decline , no quality coming in . Nancy was a disaster . People making these decisions must be held responsible. Surely it’s not beyond our club to have aspirations to at east have a decent run in Europe. In any other job 6 failures would not be tolerated. 🍀
Sad thing with Celtic losing on Tuesday what team in spl would have beat lasks the Manager and coaches will have a job picking the team up but the Supporters have to do it to we cant just take the good yes I’ve never seen a Celtic team collapse like that our front line became non existent yes excuses for that yang tried to run at them but they look to strong for our forwards and midfield the board have to buy three players they were setting up those buys before the game now we need those players more than ever talk of £40,000,000 is talk you cant loss what you ain’t got and if the board are top business men they don’t spend on what they haven’t got so if we where going to buy these players there should be nothing to stop and if there’s a reason tell the supporters and stop hiding behind the myth that we have that money we haven’t spent nothing really we are in the black this transfer window so spend it might not be financial it could be players don’t want to go to spl remember we are still in europe not champions league but europa a great tournament if we strengthen with those players we will be competated but we all seen we were brushed aside in certain areas that has to be looked runs where blocked we are still the team that one 3-0 and were 0-1 up what happened we fave them belief with a terrible goal and we just collapsed a and they grew .and we have to speed up buying players we have a long weekend to get those players in but they have been negotiating for weeks get it done not let some supporters start there sack the board which dosent help nobody get it done we have the makings of a good team we have had a horrible night
If Dermot Desmond plans to make his son the top man at Celtic he must be insane.
After his statement at the last AGM there is no way the fans will accept him, my suspicion is that DD is trying to get one over the fans, which will badly backfire and there will only be one winner.
