    Celtic win race for 24-year-old Parma midfielder, Oliver Sorensen

    Sorensen currently undergoing his medical ahead of Celtic move

    Celtic look set to complete a loan signing with an option to buy for Danish central midfielder Oliver Sorensen…

    The 24-year-old Parma player looks set to swap Serie A for the Scottish Premiership after a deal has been agreed between the two clubs. Sorensen is according to reports currently undergoing a medical ahead of his switch to the Scottish Champions.

    FC Copenhagen had also entered the race for Sørensen, but the Danish midfielder is now switching to Celtic on loan. The 6ft central midfielder made 34 appearances for Parma in Serie A last season.

    Sorensen joined Parma last year from Midtjylland for £7.3m and still has four years left on his contract with the Italian outfit.

    Conor Spence of this parish has this update up on x: ‘As per @F_Abolhosseini, Celtic are closing in on the signing of Oliver Sørensen from Parma on a season-long loan, with the Hoops securing an option to make the midfielder’s move permanent. Sørensen is currently undergoing his medical ahead of completing the deal.’

    Fabrizio Romano also confirms that the deal has been agreed subject to a successful medical, which is already underway.

    It looks like the Celtic bid which was made over the weekend for Gvidas Gineitis has been rejected by Torino and as a result the club appears to have quickly moved on to compete the loan move for Sorensen.
