Celtic will be getting just 300 briefs for next month’s Glasgow Derby clash at Ibrox in the Premier Sports Cup…
Celtic have been handed just 300 briefs for the upcoming Premier Sports Cup quarter-final cup clash at Ibrox.
The latest Ibrox club confirmed their offer on the same day both they and Celtic were ordered to play a closed door game in their next respective Scottish Cup clashes, due numerous incidents including crowd trouble that followed the Scottish Cup clash at Ibrox back in March, which Celtic won via a penalty shootout.
Around 8,000 hoops supporters attended that day, a big increase on the low numbers that have been present in league fixtures at both Celtic Park in Ibrox in recent years, and this decision by the Ibrox club will see an even lower away support in attendance.
The Rangers said: via a statement posted on their official site: “Since the clubs last considered away allocations, the Blackbourne Report has been published and our sanction issued.
“Together with the events of 8 March and our assessment of the current risk, these developments have informed our planning for this fixture [on 13 September]. Matchday safety remains our top priority.
“A reduced allocation allows greater individual ticket-holder accountability, stronger ingress controls, enhanced segregation and additional safeguards appropriate to the risk identified for this fixture.
“Since 8 March, there have also been further pitch invasions involving Celtic supporters. The Blackbourne Report demonstrated how quickly an initial incursion can escalate into wider disorder involving both sets of supporters.
“Preventing another pitch incursion is therefore an important part of reducing the risk of further disorder at this fixture.”

Blaming Celtic supporters for the threat of ‘pitch invasions’ is nothing more than the Ibrox club bending over backwards to appease their supporter base.
If they were really that concerned about supporter behaviour then they would have banned the Union Bears who ran onto the pitch looking for trouble, armed and proceeded to assault, police, stewards and even a Celtic member of staff.
Just as they did back in 2018, the Ibrox club have simply cut the allocation of Celtic supporters, due to pressure from their own supporters who can’t stand the sight of a mass of green white celebrating in their own backyard.
Celtic will respond to this in due course, on an eye for an eye basis when the appropriate circumstances arise.

It’s their game they live to hate!!And in brigadoon scotland we get dragged in as its rife through all walks of life especially in the people paid to protect the streets!
