Celtic have turned down an approach from Dundee over a proposed loan move for defender Dane Murray, according to reports.
The Premiership side have been exploring options to strengthen at the heart of their defence following the departures of Luke Graham and Billy Koumetio, with Murray identified as a potential target.
Despite the interest, the Scottish champions are understood to have made it clear that the 23-year-old is not available for a loan switch this summer.
Murray is also viewed as an important asset because he qualifies as a club-trained player for UEFA squad registration purposes, adding further incentive for Celtic to retain him.
The Courier reports that Dundee’s attempt to secure the centre-back has been knocked back, with Martin O’Neill keen to keep him at the Scottish champions.
Murray was included among the substitutes when Celtic defeated Dundee in Monday night’s Premiership opener.
