The former Celtic manager was appointed by the Saudi Pro League outfit last month, ending his spell in European football and embarking on a new chapter in the Middle East.

One of the biggest attractions of the role is the opportunity to work alongside five-time Ballon d’Or winner Ronaldo, whose global profile has transformed the club’s standing.

The two were reunited during Al-Nassr’s pre-season schedule in Portugal after Ronaldo attended the club’s friendly against Almeria, despite still being on an extended break following the World Cup.

It marked the first time Postecoglou and the Portuguese superstar had been photographed together since the Australian’s arrival.

Reflecting on Ronaldo’s importance to the squad, Postecoglou said: “Yeah, he’s always important.

“It’s a privilege to share a dressing room with him, I’m sure the players feel the same way.

“Speaking to him, he will be ready. He’s a professional, and he’s keen to get back amongst the group, but it’s important that he has a break, too, because he had a busy season.

“But he’ll come back, and he’ll be very important for us.”
