Martin O’Neill has named his Celtic starting XI and substitutes to take on AC Milan at Celtic Park this afternoon in front of what is expected to be a low turnout amid ongoing fan frustration which will be somewhat eased by the news that Kasper Hogh is about to become a Celtic player following the confirmation that Daizen Maeda has signed for Ipswich Town...

Viljami Sinisalo keeps the gloves as he aims to convince the manager that he is the Celtic No.1 on merit and he will have a mixture of experience and up and coming Hoops performers ahead of him in the Celtic back four with Cameron Carter-Vickers and Kieran Tierney offering the experience to help young Colby Donovan and Dane Murray.

In the middle of the park Celtic captain Callum McGregor is joined by Arne Engels and Luke McCowan while the front three sees Celtic legend James Forrest on the right, Sebastian Tounekti on the left and Camilo Duran through the middle.

There are plenty of options in the bench including Liam Scales, Callum Osmand, Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain, Reo Hatate and Anthony Ralston with a slinking of young talent there too hoping to get minutes to catch Martin O’Neill’s eye.

Kick-off is at 3pm and it’s available to watch on CelticPlayer for all subscribers – except in Italy. There’s also a pay per view option if you are ending your protest as a result of the good news regarding Kasper Hogh.

Enjoy the game if you are there or watching on the club’s stream.

A starting line-up, that was expected with the first game of the season in mind?
Yet it’s still a team missing, AJ, Trusty, Nygren, Yang and now Hogh?

So competition building for starting positions, despite being made out that we were struggling for players?
The squad will possibly change over the next few weeks, but certainly aren’t in as bad as a position, that some within our support are trying to make out either imo?

Still will have an interest, to see how some of our youngsters might get on?
Especially when the game gets messy with the amount of subs expected to be used.
Still hope a few can come into contention, even if they would be considered as players outside of our 25man European squad.
So Donovan and Murray to set the example, of potentially getting the conveyor belt, moving again?
Is something our club should be aiming for, and hope some might take the limited opportunities available to themselves, such as today?
