Celtic are reportedly yet to meet Paderborn’s valuation for midfielder Mika Baur. The 22-year-old has agreed personal terms with the Scottish Champions but the clubs are yet to reach an agreement over the sale of the German U21 International.
According to reports from Germany, Celtic are yet to meet the valuation of the player and are just €300k off their valuation, which suggests a breakthrough should be attainable.
However, the report states that newly promoted Paderborn are in no rush to sell and would rather lose the player for free next summer than sell him below their valuation.

Celtic supporters had been hoping that Baur would end the wait for a second signing and given the player was keen for the move then it would’ve been straightforward. Although, this story lends itself to the wider narrative around Celtic when it comes to incoming transfers. It could, it is also fair to say, be nothing but the anxiety amongst the support about how Celtic do their business has been bedded in over a number of years.
Hopefully the €300k gap can be filled and Celtic can have a new midfielder to bolster their ranks ahead of the season kicking off a week on Monday.

Look’s like the top sport’s lawyer is fucking up again.
Nicholson makes sure the players we are trying to buy or eventually buy are thinking they are not really wanted. We lose out on nearly every negotiating to save peanuts. He is absolutely horrendous at his job, but will convince himself he is doing a great job. The team are going through a huge rebuild and we have bought 1 player with 4 first team regulars out to pastures new, and key players in our team focused on moves elsewhere. Penny pinching Nicholson doesn’t realize the damage he is doing. This is NOT the way to prepare for a crucial CL play off tie worth 10’s of millions to the club. He thinks he is saving us money by penny pinching but in reality is costing us millions!
Personally not a fan of attacking people within our club, especially when it can become very personal?
Trying to keep an open mind, upon what might actually be going on behind closed doors, especially as I wouldn’t believe every word that gets reported either?
But in this particular instance, I think Nicholson has gone way to far, in basically acting the bollocks, and disrespecting our support and club, in such an unforgiving manner imo?
Haven’t a clue as to why he acts in such a manner, when he knows the backlash he is going to face?
Wouldn’t say he is a totally thick eejit as a person?
But there is no defence for himself whatsoever, when he continues to act as one, within his current position?
Taking all the good out of any potential incoming player, is a disgusting act within itself?
His low balling antics, while we are a cash rich club, is way beyond infuriating at this stage.
The longer he stays within our club, and carrying out the duties he’s meant to be getting paid for?
Then the toxic environment within our club will remain, and even grow as a result imo?
How this is allowed to continue is beyond me, and how Nicholson is still in his position is becoming an even bigger mystery at this point imo?
