Former Celtic midfielder Olivier Ntcham has been left searching for a new club after his proposed move to AEK Athens collapsed.
The 30-year-old, who made 146 appearances during his four years at Celtic, recently left Turkish side FC Samsunspor following a successful spell.
Ntcham had looked on course to join the Greek giants, having previously faced AEK during Celtic’s Champions League qualifier against them in 2018.
However, the deal has now fallen through, leaving the midfielder available on a free transfer as he considers his next move.
According to AfricaFoot, after weeks of negotiations, AEK have “severed all contact” with Ntcham and his agents.
The report claims the Athens club have now shifted their focus towards alternative targets they believe are a better fit for their squad.
After impressing in Turkey, Ntcham will now hope to quickly secure a new opportunity following the unexpected breakdown of his move to Greece.
