Mika Baur left out of Paderborn squad amid Celtic transfer talks

Celtic-linked midfielder Mika Baur has been omitted from Paderborn’s squad for this afternoon’s pre-season encounter with Southampton.

The Bundesliga 2 side take on the Premier League outfit in a friendly, but the 22-year-old has not been included among the travelling party.

Paderborn have stated that Baur is unavailable because he is suffering from a cold, with the absence coming as negotiations over a potential move to Celtic continue.

Sky Sports reporter Anthony Joseph provided an update on social media, indicating that discussions between the two clubs remain active.

He posted: “Celtic target Mika Baur has been left out of the Paderborn squad for their pre-season friendly against Southampton today.

“#SCP07 say the 22-year-old has a cold.

“Baur is keen to join the Scottish champions and is awaiting an agreement between the clubs, so he can travel. Talks are ongoing.”
