Johnny Kenny is attracting English interest ahead of a potential summer move…
The Irish striker enjoyed more minutes at Celtic last season, even scoring in the Scottish League Cup Semi-final against the Rangers at Hampden Park back in November.
Martin O’Neill used the player more in his first spell as interim boss, as the Irishman decided to put his countryman out on loan for the remainder of the campaign, when he replaced the woeful Wilfred Nancy as manager in January.
Johnny Kenny went on to play for Bolton Wanderers for the second-half of the season just past and even managed to grab six goals along the way too, prompting interest from the Lancashire outfit again this summer window, along with several other English sides, according to Sky Sports.

They report that Bolton are keen to bring the attacker back to play in the Championship and that the Hoops would be willing to listen to offers for the 23-year-old former Sligo Rovers star.
Although it does state that they won’t be alone in their pursuit of the Celtic striker, as other clubs are in the mix at the minute for the former Bolton loanee after his success at Bolton earlier this year.
Kasper Høgh’s imminent arrival should be signed, sealed and delivered later today, after the the big Dane passed his Celtic medical in London yesterday, ahead of his record-breaking transfer from Bodø/Glimt to the Scottish Champions. That should be the signal for Johnny Kenny to be looking into future options, with Camilo Duran and Callum Osmand now ahead of him in the pecking order at Paradise.

The Republic of Ireland international was sidelined through injury but has now recovered from a knee injury sustained whilst down in England on loan at League One side Bolton Wanderers.
However, as Anthony Joseph confirmed via his social media account on X, that potential suitors are monitoring Kenny’s situation closely.
The Sky Sports man wrote:
“Bolton Wanderers are keen to re-sign Celtic striker Johnny Kenny. The Hoops will be willing to listen to offers once they’ve completed the signing of Bodo/Glimt’s Kasper Hogh. He’s recovering from a knee injury, so interested clubs have been monitoring his situation.”

Whilst Kenny has been enthusiastic and full of energy when in a Celtic shirt, it’s clear that the Irishman will have to move on for the sake of his career, as the manager needs better quality to compete once again in European football.
Kasper Hogh’s arrival pushes Kenny down the pecking order at Celtic
That should be at the heart of Celtic Football Club and Martin O’Neill will surely be pushing the club on this, if his recent Kasper Høgh comments are anything to go by.
Millwall has been credited with an interest in Johnny Kenny earlier in the transfer window, and Bolton may also have other rivals for the Irish striker’s signature. Celtic will be looking for a minimum of £1m for Kenny, with that price previously set last summer.
Perhaps the fee could go to around £1.5m with some healthy bidding getting underway shortly!

Was always going to be the case when Hogh was signed?
Was a potential choice between Osmand and Kenny for that 3rd striker role, and not surprised Osmand gets it,by the looks of things?
On paper, it provides ourselves with very decent striker options, and hopefully will be very clinical in front of goal?
Even at that, our wider options aren’t totally completed just yet. Plenty of talk surrounding Hussain still, along with other names getting thrown into the mix also?
Do believe that another wide option will be added, all the same?
Which in turn, should allow for Balikwisha to be loaned out, possibly in an attempt to recoup as much money as possible in what we spent on him?
With Hatton potentially adding extra depth as a B listed player, within our 25man European squad, and potentially looking as the replacement for forrest in the bigger picture also imo?
Still it leaves the question? as to whether a squad place is going to be left open for jota?
Especially with potentially 4 matches available within the league phase of a European campaign?
Somehow, think that a loan signing could well be in the offering, to potentially provide MoN extra time, to decide upon the position for the European league phase in mind?
Still possibly need 5 established wide options for the SPFL campaign, with Hatton making 6?
Especially when 4 are going to be within our 20man match day squad, especially if the setting up of our team remains the same?
Still looking like our overall squad will be built upon a 4231 basis imo?
Doesn’t mean that we are going to be so 1 dimensional, as Plenty of flexibility will be allowed within it, along with growing competition for starting positions? And far better cover for when the injuries occur?
Having Donovan, Hatton and Mcardle pushing players in order to retain there match day squad positions, is something we haven’t really had in place for ourselves, and something that should have been in place before now imo?
But we don’t tend to do things quickly? But much prefer them to be done correctly, and plenty within the squad building process already to be pleased about imo?
Not completed by any means, but certainly heading in the right direction, with our overall squad rebuilding process imo?
