Former Celtic full-back Marcelo Saracchi has emerged as a transfer target for MLS outfit Houston Dynamo following the end of his spell at the Hoops.

The Uruguay international, who featured 27 times during Celtic’s double-winning campaign under Martin O’Neill, returned to Boca Juniors after his loan expired earlier this summer.
Reports via Glasgow Times suggest Houston Dynamo have submitted a bid in the region of £750,000 for the 27-year-old, with Boca believed to be open to his departure amid interest from several clubs.
Saracchi recently confirmed that a second spell with Celtic will not materialise despite efforts behind the scenes to make it happen.
He said: “My agent and I did absolutely everything within our power to make a return to Glasgow happen.”
He added: “I’m truly gutted that I won’t be able to continue at the club at this stage of my career. However, I know our paths will cross again in the future.”
Saracchi concluded with a message to the Celtic support, saying: “I wish you all nothing but the best for what’s ahead. Thank you for everything.”
