As our summer of discontent on the recruitment front continues once again, some good news could be on the horizon this week with a deal for a World Cup stand out is said to be close to completion.

£7m deal all but done to bring Hassan to Celtic

    According to Sports journalist Pablo Oliveira, a deal for the Egyptian international to Join Celtic is all but over the line. He posted this on his X account;

“REINFORCEMENT IN SIGHT FOR CELTIC! Celtic is very optimistic about signing the promising winger Haissem Hassan, currently at Real Oviedo. According to the latest information, the Hoops are ready to formalize a £7 million bid for the player. The Scottish board wants to close the deal as soon as possible to integrate him into the squad!”

Before we can pick up ourselves up from the floor, Oliveira seems to be the only individual reporting on this, so we should be a bit sceptical, particularly when he stated that “the Scottish board wants to close the deal as soon as possible to integrate him into the squad.”

Here’s hoping that it’s true, as Hassan is highly regarded, as his performances at the World Cup proved, as he impressed numerous folk, and won plenty of new admirers, with football outlet Softball highly complimentary of the 24 year old.

‘His movements were sleek, his dribbling clean and controlled…’

After the defeat to Argentina, Softfootball.com stated: “Softfootball analysts were impressed from the first moment he got on the ball. Hassan showed he is a real team player, always knowing exactly what to do whenever possession reached his feet. His movements were sleek, his dribbling clean and controlled, and his confidence to take on defenders stood out throughout the match.

“He was one of Egypt’s standout performers”

“Our analysts were constantly hoping the ball would find him because his style of play is simply entertaining and he did not disappoint. Every time he received the ball, he looked dangerous, always trying to create something meaningful for Egypt.”

“Despite Egypt’s defeat, Hassan made a huge impact. He worked tirelessly, linked up play intelligently, showed great composure, and capped off his performance with a well‑deserved assist. For us, after Egypt’s goalkeeper, he was one of Egypt’s standout performers on the night.”

Could white smoke be about to appear from Celtic Park once again for a second time this summer, in regard to an incoming signing?

Let’s hope so but with this Celtic Board we can’t get too excited until the player is asked about trying Irn Bru by Gerry McCulloch.

If there is any hope this will happen, then we need to buck this long standing trend of lowballing and dithering.
Other teams are surely interested as well.

We are already gone beyond the point of having temporary positions filled within the forming of our 25man European squad?

Even though we are currently in a position of only having 24 positions filled, it’s by no means completed, especially as we are still 1 short within our homegrown quota requirements at present?
Could Taylor be the potential replacement for Saracchi in that regards?

Hussain, would be the obvious replacement for Balikwisha, as I still don’t think he has shown enough, to be within the plans of MoN for next season imo?

Even if we should manage to complete this deal, I wouldn’t say that our attacking options would be completed either?
Especially with the uncertainty surrounding Maeda at present?
Still think Duran might be considered as operating in the duel role that Maeda provided for ourselves all the same imo?
The only difference been, whether MoN is thinking of having 7 or 8 attacking options within his 25man European squad?

Personally believe it will finally consist of
      3 keepers
      8 defensive options
      6 midfielders
      8 attacking
Same as last season, with a loan signing CB for the SPFL, if and when required imo?
Still looking like the squad will eventually be completed with the 4231 formation staying in place also, unless huge changes are applied this week, with more returning players becoming available, after there world cup duties?

So potentially plenty of gaps to be filled, especially if the speculation grows, with the amount of potential players leaving, that could be on the cards?

Therefore, a potential balancing act is currently in place? Where we want the incoming players, but space would be required within our squad, to actually fill them positions?
All the while, we aren’t going to let current players go, who currently hold them positions, leave on the cheap either imo?

Could well develop into a situation of 1 player in, 1 player out, over the next number of weeks, especially as we aren’t in a position financially of having to sell players, but need adequate replacements all the same?
This potential deal in the making, should certainly fit our requirements imo?

Whether it actually gets completed is a totally different story altogether?
