Celtic target Haissem Hassan has admitted that he expects to leave his current side Real Oviedo during this transfer window with Celtic seemingly leading the chase for the exciting winger who impressed at the recent World Cup finals…

Marseille are also rumoured to be in for the Egyptian international, who has a release clause set at £10 million, but it’s believed that Celtic could negotiate with Real Oviedo to land Hassan for a significantly lower transfer fee.

Hassan said, as reported by The National: “I haven’t spoken to anyone at Oviedo yet, but I have one year left on my contract and nobody is untouchable at a club like this. Football is a business and, at my age, I think I can bring in some money for the club. But I don’t know what will happen.

“It was a learning season for me with Real Oviedo in La Liga and we’ve all made mistakes. It was a difficult season – you saw an Oviedo team that wasn’t used to this level, but we didn’t imagine it would be this tough.

“On a personal level? I’ve had my ups and downs, good times and not-so-good times. So I needed a break after the season both physically and mentally.

“I’m very happy in Oviedo. They’ve always treated me well and I’ve experienced the best time of my career here. Oviedo will always be a part of my heart, but we’ll see what happens.

“I don’t know if I’ll stay or not.”

With the recent sale of Maik Nawrocki, and missing out on Kelechi Iheanacho and Marcelo Saracchi, plus with the likes of Arne Engels, Daizen Maeda, and Reo Hatate all set to leave Celtic, it’s vital that we get some new faces in the door asap.

Signing Hassiem would be a good way to start what will hopefully be an influx of new faces over the next few weeks.

An ordinary everyday Celtic supporters hailing and still residing in Govan in the shadows of the enemy. I’m a season ticket holder. I Witnessed my first Celtic game in 1988 and have attended when I can ever since. Growing up in the 90s I witnessed Celtic at their lowest, and now appreciate the historic success we enjoy today. I enjoy writing about this wonderful football club and hopefully will continue to do so. I’ve always been a keen writer and initially started this a hobby. My ambition is to one day become as good an author as my fellow Celtic Shorts colleagues.

At present, we have still 8 attacking options in place.
Possibly on a 5 wide, with 3 strikers?
Could make a 4 and 4 claim, all the while Maeda is with ourselves?

Even so, still think another wide option is required, especially as Balikwisha still looking like a player, that will be loaned out, in order to get back as much of the 5M wasted upon him imo?
Even with Duran also meant to be able to operate in the wide areas. Along with a returning jota hopefully at some stage next season?

Another wide option, would leave ourselves well stocked, and competition for those starting positions?
Something I believe that MoN is looking for, within the squad building process?
And something I hope is actually achieved, especially if we want a decent European campaign for next season imo?
