Former Celtic loanee Marcelo Saracchi is set to remain at Boca Juniors for the time being after a proposed switch to MLS side Houston Dynamo fell through.

The left-back had been expected to leave the Argentine club this summer after falling out of favour and being made available for transfer.
However, the move has now broken down, with Houston withdrawing their interest after Boca rejected an offer worth around £900,000 for a 60 per cent stake in the defender’s registration.
The Buenos Aires outfit are understood to be holding out for a fee of around £1.5 million – the same amount they paid to sign Saracchi from Levante in 2023.
Saracchi, 28, spent last season on loan at Celtic, playing his part as the Hoops secured both the Scottish Premiership title and Scottish Cup.
Following the end of his spell in Glasgow, the Uruguayan admitted in an emotional message to supporters that he had hoped to extend his stay, but a permanent agreement could not be reached.
Although clubs elsewhere in Europe have been linked with the defender, an exit from Boca does not appear to be any closer at this stage.
