The new service marks the end of an era for Celtic TV, which first launched in 2004 before moving to a fully digital platform in 2011. Once the club completes the transition to its new system, the Celtic TV brand will be no more.

The overhaul follows feedback gathered through the club’s 2024 Fan Survey, with Celtic aiming to modernise its digital offering rather than simply change its branding.

Among the key changes, CelticPlayer will offer supporters a single sign-in across the club’s website, online store and ticketing platform, with integration into the new Celtic FC App also planned.

As part of the launch, Celtic confirmed that all existing Celtic TV subscriptions will automatically transfer to CelticPlayer, meaning current subscribers do not need to take any action beyond checking the email sent by the club.

The club has also promised a “vastly improved site layout and sleek user experience”, addressing one of the long-standing frustrations of Celtic TV, which operated separately from the club’s main website and required a different login.

While the platform itself has been redesigned, the available content will remain unchanged. Subscribers will continue to have access to exclusive interviews, behind-the-scenes footage and training content, alongside live match coverage where broadcasting rights permit.

As in previous seasons, pre-season friendlies are expected to be available live to all subscribers, while competitive fixtures will remain restricted to viewers outside the UK and Ireland.

Celtic TV had drawn criticism from supporters over its usability in recent years, leaving many fans hoping the move to CelticPlayer represents a genuine improvement rather than simply a change of name.

Same here Chris. My son lives in Dubai and I asked him to check if his worked. It didn’t. Anyone else having these login problems since Celtic TV changed to CelticPlayer?
