Celtic have sealed an agreement with Qarabag to sign striker Camilo Duran in a deal worth £5.5 million, with the Colombian set to become the club’s first addition of the summer transfer window.
According to Stephen McGowan via TCW, the 22-year-old is on his way to Glasgow to complete the remaining formalities after an eye-catching season in Azerbaijan.
Duran found the net 15 times in all competitions, including Champions League goals against Newcastle, Eintracht Frankfurt, Benfica and Ajax.
Celtic have monitored the left-footed forward extensively in recent months, and after lengthy negotiations, an agreement has now been reached between the two clubs.
Qarabag are set to make a sizeable profit on the transfer, having signed Duran from Portimonense for just £200,000 last summer.
Although Qarabag are due to begin their Europa League qualifying campaign this week, they have agreed to complete the sale in time for Duran to be available for Celtic’s Champions League play-off fixtures.
