Celtic looked to have all but sealed a deal to bring striking target Camilo Duran to Celtic Park…

That’s according to the multiple reports which state that a deal to sign the versatile forward is close to being announced after all parties reached an agreement.

Qarabag forward Camilo Duran has left the clubs pre-season camp to travel to Scotland & complete a move to Celtic.

The Azerbaijani side have accepted a £4.3M offer with Duran undergoing a medical starting today.

The Colombian attacker had a breakout season in Azerbaijan after his £200,000 move from Portimonense last summer, and now looks set to bank Qarabag a significant profit, with a deal in the region of £3 million said to have been all but agreed.

Having made his mark both domestically and in the champions league, scoring against the likes of Newcastle, Eintracht Frankfurt, Benfica, and Ajax, it now appears his move to Celtic is on the verge of completion.

Celtic had their first offer of around £1.7m rejected but it was always expected they’d come back to the table. Now multiple reports in Azerbaijan say a second offer is imminent and it’s expected to be enough to get the deal done

Reports vary on the exact fee but the consensus is it will be significantly closer to the £3m Qarabag have demanded.

It’s believed Duran has signed off on personal terms after his agent made the trip to Glasgow last weekend to thrash out a contract, in a bid to rush the deal through to make the striker Martin O’Neill’s first summer signing.

The 24 year old is ready to make the move and now all that’s left is for Celtic and Qarabag to agree on the formalities, which will hopefully be concluded imminently.

Duran who could become Qarabag’s club record sale after Leandro Andrade joined Polissya for £2.5m earlier this summer, is a player of great potential, and a proven goalscorer in the champions league, so it’s a move if completed, that we can all get behind.
