Celtic defender Alistair Johnston has hit out at Frontier Airlines after a travel ordeal following Canada’s World Cup exit reportedly left him stranded in the wrong destination and without his luggage.
The 27-year-old featured in all five of Canada’s matches as they reached the knockout stages of the tournament for the first time in their history before their campaign came to an end with a 3-0 defeat to Morocco in the last 16.
His return from international duty, however, has been far from straightforward. Johnston took to social media to vent his frustration after claiming the airline had somehow sent him to the wrong city while also losing track of his bags.
Learned my lesson today. Never fly @FlyFrontier even if it’s the only direct flight available. Genuinely look for multi-stop redeye flights before flying with them. I’m still not sure where my bags are and I’m in the wrong city somehow 🤣🙃

Canada’s official social media account replied by asking: “Where did they send you?”, although Johnston has yet to reveal where he unexpectedly ended up.
The defender is now expected to report back to Celtic as preparations continue for the new season following his extended spell on international duty with Canada.
