West Bromwich Albion are interested in recruiting Celtic first-team coach Gavin Strachan.
The 47-year-old has been a key figure behind the scenes at Celtic since arriving six years ago and has worked under a number of managers, including Neil Lennon, Ange Postecoglou, Brendan Rodgers, Wilfried Nancy and Martin O’Neill.
The Baggies are keen to add further experience to their backroom staff following the appointment of former Scotland midfielder James Morrison as head coach on a two-year deal.
Morrison successfully steered the club away from relegation after taking over from Eric Ramsay in February, overseeing a 10-match unbeaten run that secured Championship survival before the final day of the season.
Strachan remains highly regarded at Celtic, where he is heavily involved in day-to-day coaching and regularly leads first-team training sessions at Lennoxtown. He also formed part of O’Neill’s coaching staff alongside Shaun Maloney and Mark Fotheringham.
However, uncertainty remains over the futures of Maloney and Fotheringham, with the pair yet to agree fresh terms after being offered revised contracts by the club.
Meanwhile, reports in Mexico last week suggested that former Celtic defender Efrain Juarez is being considered for a coaching role at the Scottish champions.
The ex-Mexico international has been linked with a potential assistant manager position, with the possibility of a more permanent role further down the line.
Questions also remain over the futures of Stephen McManus and Michael McGovern, with no confirmation yet on whether they will continue as part of Celtic’s coaching set-up next season.
