The potential Robbie Keane appointment as next Celtic manager is nothing more than a one finger salute from Dermot Desmond and his boardroom lackeys to the Celtic support.

And the lack of gratitude and disrespect towards Martin O’Neill would be disgraceful. If Martin O’Neill wants the job then he should get it. It is as simple as that Mr Desmond…
The potential appointment of Robbie Keane as Celtic Manager has only increased the chasm that already exists between the Celtic supporters and the club’s hierarchy led by the biggest minority shareholder Dermot Desmond.
How can forget that Martin O’Neill inspired dramatic last gasp title win?
This threatens to escalate tensions even further just a couple of weeks after a massive feel good factor created by a Martin O’Neill inspired dramatic last gasp title win, which was complemented by a Scottish Cup triumph as we sealed the most unlikely domestic double in the club’s history.

Don’t get me wrong, the support’s anger, and more than justified frustration had never gone away, and may have temporary simmered somewhat. However it was good to forget about the clouds of negativity that hung over the club for a short spell, as we put 100% of our focus behind the team and their inspirational leader, Martin O’Neill.

Now to me it seems that those in power at the club are doing their best to erase any sort of lingering positivity surrounding the trophies won last month.
That might seem a bit far fetched to some, but we’ve all saw the contempt and distain that the individuals who run our club treat the supporters with throughout last season, including the bans of over 250 supporters for six months for nothing that 99% of them were even involved in.

The ban was only lifted for selfish, self preservation and financial reasons – Champions League cash was at stake
There were pensioners caught up in that ban that was only lifted because the atmosphere inside Celtic Park had to improve as the support was required to do their best to get the team over the line.
The ongoing ban on fan media shows no sign of ending and extended to the Women’s Scottish Cup Final last weekend against the Rangers where the attendance was embarrassingly low. Contrast that to the record breaking attendances when fan media worked with Fran Alonso to bring 17k to Celtic Park and the North stand at the National Stadium was packed full for the previous Glasgow Derby Scottish Cup final three years ago.

Dermot Desmond said he will always ignore a million people to do his own thing
Now the potential appointment of an individual who is not popular in the slightest among the support, seems no more than yet another massive one finger salute firmly in the face of each and every single one of us.
Remember if a million people tell Dermot Desmond to do something he will ignore them and instead do his own thing regardless. He’s told us that so don’t be surprised if that is exactly what is going to happen.
Most Celtic supporters were all on board with Martin O’Neill signing up for another year, something that was rumoured to have been getting the full seal of approval, but unfortunately now looks unlikely as Desmond seems to have his heart set on Robbie Keane.
If Martin O’Neill wants the job he has done more than enough to get it
Putting aside the reasons why the support don’t want Robbie Keane to be the next Celtic manager – the Irish support in particular have serious issues with him as Conall McGinty explained on Celtic Shorts yesterday – the notion that after all he has done for Dermot Desmond this season, Martin O’Neill gets interviewed then told that he has been unsuccessful is a disgrace.
The lack of gratitude would be off the scale
The lack of gratitude is off the scale if that is the way this is going to pan out over the next few days.
What if Robbie Keane turns out to be just as bad as Dermot Desmond’s last pick Wilfried Nancy and loses six of his opening eight games? Who is Dermot going to call then and offer the job to, giving ten minutes to decide? Not Martin O’Neill. Or Brendan Rodgers…oh wait, Neil Lennon will do it…
Is it a coincidence that news of the club’s concrete interest in Robbie Keane just happened to after the season ticket renewal deadline? Or after a much publicised ding dong with the Green Brigade? The photo of Scott Brown and Jonny Hayes visiting Keane and Glass in Hungary a few weeks back tells us that this has been a plan in the making.

Make no mistake, this is all nothing more than our absent landlord and his minions giving us all a one fingered salute. They really have no shame.
Martin O’Neill brings unity to Celtic, Robbie Keane will be a divisive figure
Martin O’Neill brings unity to Celtic, Robbie Keane will be a divisive figure at Celtic. Martin O’Neill stepped in not once but twice to save Celtic. Got us to both cup finals and wasn’t permitted to win the first one (he would have done).
Then he somehow or other managed to win the Scottish Cup and the more impressively the Scottish Premiership, breaking Hearts and enraging the Rangers in doing so. The world was watching that Celtic v Hearts game and the worldwide audience must have been thinking that Celtic Park, like that, is unbelievable.

For football reasons alone Martin O’Neill is the better candidate for the Celtic job
For football reasons alone Martin O’Neill is also the better candidate for the Celtic job, and that applied to his background team too. Broony has just been sacked by Ayr United. Glass got sacked by Aberdeen. Jonny Hayes hasn’t exactly been a success at the Celtic B team (check the Lowland league table) and Keane himself just finished second in a one horse title race.
Give the job to Martin O’Neill. TODAY! Even Simon Jordan gets it. Have a listen…

Look what double d did to one of his other countryman slated him to the lowest hopefully he will not do that to Martin he should ask Martin about his feelings taking on the job full time with his existing staff as the old saying goes if it’s not broken don’t try to fix it.
