We still don’t have a permanent manager in place but that hasn’t stopped the rumour mill continuing to flow in terms of transfer incomings, and yet another rumour was made this morning with the news that Celtic are linked with a move for French striker Elias Filet.
Elias Filet is a 24 year old centre forward who played for Swiss second tier side Aarau.
According to transfer specialist Sacha Tavolieri, the player is also wanted by Belgian side Genk, French side Lorient, with Celtic also thrown into the mix, so it very much appears to be a three horse race for his signature.
Michael Nicholson’s track record
Certainly with Michael Nicholson’s track record I wouldn’t hold out too much hope of a decisive move to sign a target using the club’s superior financial muscle to blow the two more modest opponents out of the water.
Not much is known about Filet, and a quick Wiki search would tell you that the French born, left footed 6ft striker has played for the likes of Sochaux in his native France, Luxembourg side Progres Niederkorn, Croatian club Istra, and current side Aarau in his short but uninspiring career to date.
According to online site transfermarket, Filet has scored 64 goals and registered 10 assists in 153 career appearances, which is quite impressive truth be told, a tally that several centre-forwards would love to boast on their CV.

Last year alone, Filet scored 22 goals, and registered six assists in 40 games across all competitions for Swiss side Aarau. But like most of his career, his goals have been scored in the second tier football, so it’s hard to judge the player’s ability at the top level.
He could however be a decent player, and prove to be quite a find, but yet again it’s just another in a long line of underwhelming speculation.
Is it just yet another rumour, or is this one got substance to it? I guess we’ll find out in the coming days.

Very hard to take the rumour mill very seriously, especially as the transfer window hasn’t even officially opened yet?
But sounding out potential targets is also expected, even if we aren’t seriously interested?
What potentially would be interesting, if any truth within the rumour, is where would it leave kelchi as a potential permanent signing?
Still think MoN will be looking for 3 strikers within his finalised 25man European squad?
And certainly 2 for a 20man SPFL match day squad, with allowing for injuries and rotation to be covered better for imo?
Would be very surprised if this lad filet, was regarded as good enough to lead our attack, in the striker position?
Same as Osmand or Kenny at present? Yet all 3 have age on there side for improvement?
Out of those 3, still think Osmand has a bright future with ourselves, and will be considered as 1 of our 3 strikers next season imo?
Still think that a more established striker will be required, to lead our attack all the same?
Therefore, a potential choice between Filet, kelchi and Kenny could be within our planning at present?
Kelchi would be the obvious choice, but think his fitness concerns, could hamper a contract, especially for the length of time involved within it imo?
Kelchi done very well as a bit part player last season, but still believe MoN would be looking for far more than that also next season imo?
Think MoN will want to get ourselves back to becoming a more dominant team, especially within the scoreline? Than a team relying upon moments, that we were last season, especially late on in matches.
Best solution for that is getting more goals by becoming more clinical in front of goal. And on a more regular basis also, hence the requirements of goal scoring strikers?
Ended up well enough last season, with the differences Maeda and kelchi could provide during matches.
Still think MoN would like to keep a variation within his striker options again for next season imo?
