Luis Palma is set to complete a permanent move to Polish side Lech Poznan, after Celtic reportedly told the Ekstraklasa outift to take-it-or-leave-it on the pre-agreed option-to-buy to fee in the original deal last summer…
Celtic to recoup £3.5 million  Luis Palma fee paid to Aris Thessaloniki in 2023
The Honduran international now looks et to put pen-to-paper on a three-year deal which will keep him in Poland for the foreseeable future, whilst netting the Hoops a sum which will see them not stand to lose anything on the player, having shelled out £3.5 million to bring the forward from Aris Thessaloniki in the close season of 2023, under Brendan Rodgers.
Luis never managed to cement his place on that left-wing berth, despite obvious technically class and ability on the ball. His lack of pace had many questioning whether he was even a winger at all, with his attributes suggesting he was more of an inside forward or number 10.
His Celtic spell was cut short eventually by the club, who felt it best for all involved to explore other avenues.

Lech have triggered his release clause
Well, it now looks like Luis has found a new place of residence at the European side, with a report in The Scotsman stating that Lech have triggered his release clause, following a long and protracted attempt to negotiate the fee down.
With Sevilla lurking along with others in the background, it seems that Celtic’s stance has forced Palma’s current team to re-evaluate the situation.
Luis Palma officially became our player until June 30th, 2029
The 26-year-old will now sign a contract until the year 2030, and will break the club’s current transfer record, according to sporting director, Tomasz RzÄ…sa.
The Lech Poznan chief said: “We had a buyout clause in our loan agreement with Scottish side Celtic FC. Therefore, the decision was ours from the start. We are pleased to announce that on Wednesday, June 3rd, we activated this clause, and Luis Palma officially became our player until June 30th, 2029.
“Understandably, we cannot disclose the exact fees, as they are confidential, but I can confirm that this is our record transfer to the club,” as reported via The Scotsman.

“Luis’ achievements were impossible to ignore
“Luis’ achievements were impossible to ignore; he quickly integrated into the team and delivered exceptional quality on the pitch,” he added.
“The statistics confirm this. However, we were calm about all the speculation surrounding our player, knowing we held all the cards. That’s why we waited until the end of the season and, after careful analysis, decided to acquire the winger from Celtic.
“We hope he continues to perform as well as he has so far and will help us from the start of the season, as we already face important challenges, such as the Champions League qualifiers. We are working hard to have the strongest possible squad during pre-season.”

One down, many more to go!
Adiós, Luis.
Thanks and good luck!
