Gavin Strachan has brought his time with Celtic to an end after completing a move to West Bromwich Albion, with the two clubs officially confirming his departure…

As first revealed on Celtic Shorts, the 47-year-old leaves the Scottish champions after six years and will now form part of James Morrison’s backroom staff at The Hawthorns, taking up a first-team coaching position ahead of the new season.
Celtic Manager Martin O’Neill:
💬 “I have only really known Gavin for the past six months, but his contribution was vital to our success and of course I wish him very well for the future in his new role.”

Strachan joins the Championship side alongside fellow coach Tony McMahon as Morrison continues to shape his coaching team.
Welcoming the appointments, the West Brom boss highlighted the experience and knowledge Strachan will bring to the role.
Speaking to club media, Morrison said: “I’m delighted to add Gavin Strachan to the group.
“Having a new pair of eyes from somebody with Gavin’s experience will help us massively. He has worked alongside some top managers, like Martin O’Neill, Ange Postecoglou and Brendan Rodgers, and will no doubt bring fresh ideas with him.
“They [the coaching team] make up what I believe is a strong group around me. They all have different personalities, qualities, and an excellent work ethic, which is important for what we want to do.”
Strachan’s exit marks the end of a successful spell in Glasgow, where he played a key role behind the scenes during a period that delivered 12 domestic trophies for the Hoops.
Martin O’Neill also paid tribute to the departing coach, acknowledging the impact he made during their time working together last season.
The Celtic manager said: “I have only really known Gavin for the past six months, but his contribution was vital to our success, and of course I wish him very well for the future in his new role.”
