Despite supporters of both the Rangers and Hearts scoffing at the appointment of the 74 year old Irishman, they know deep down that he’s a man who can lead Celtic to yet more success this forthcoming campaign.
This is a manager after all who arrived when we were at our lowest ebb, and he galvanised us all, leading us to an unlikely double success in the most dramatic of ways.

Over at Ibrox they still have faith in young Danny Rohl. He’s a manager about half the age of his rival Martin O’Neill. That’s the same Danny Rohl who has failed to get the better of the Irishman over four games. Indeed, Martin is responsible for eliminating the Ibrox club from every single domestic competition last term.
Rohl went into the five post split fixtures in the Scottish Premiership as the bookies favourites to with the title. The German stated that these were all five cup final for his team and that they planned to win all five.

Sorry, but don’t agree with your assessment, as it’s based upon SPFL levels only?
A side so poor on quality, yet can still send 8 players to a world cup finals at present, doesn’t totally add up, especially when you consider, that our club has possibly never had so many representatives at a world cup finals before imo?
So still regards this quality factor as somewhat of a lie, that so many within our support has bought into, moreso than the struggles involved, as to why our players struggled so badly overall, in reaching there own personal levels of performance, and able to sustain it over a consistent basis of an entire campaign?
It remains a smokescreen, that it was finally getting produced within the title run in, led by Maeda, and others able to contribute moreso also imo?
Yet we can’t continue to overlook, 28 players used within a 10 match European campaign, after the CL qualification disaster?
Of them 28 players, as many as half of them, might not be with ourselves for our next European venture? And only 4 of them were actual loan signings involved?
That is the potential scale of a rebuilding squad process that we are looking at undertaking this summer?
And there will be quality leaving, that won’t be replaced, at the same selling value either?
So looking for players to provide better quality, than what we are selling for, remains a massive task to try and overcome and resolve within itself. We go on at times as if most clubs, don’t know how to use the value within the transfer market, including ourselves?
Would help hugely if there was a player development programme in operation for ourselves, but there isn’t, just a player trading model, that produces mixed results in playing terms, but enough to still gain enough profit within the player trading model, is where we find ourselves as a club imo?
More than good enough within the SPFL still, as no-one else has a player trading model of any real note still?
No-one can even get close to our winning mentality within Scottish football, due to our dominance still intact, if only just last season?
And achieved without having that squad and players available upon a regular and consistent basis either?
So as much as we enjoyed the sunshine at the end of last season eventually, doesn’t mean that there isn’t storm clouds gathering on the horizon either, despite MoN finally in position, to try and tackle the amount of problems, that he has to find solutions to, all in a relatively short period of time?
Even with the problems we have to currently overcome, still would say that we are still in the strongest position within Scottish football still?
As for European football, that’s an entirely different story altogether. Especially with it being a longshot for ourselves to be regarded as a decent CL team next season, with the amount of changes expected imo?
Even harder with potentially losing a number with that CL experience in them also?
Yet we think that CL quality players are going to be incoming, and readily available within the budgets we are trying to operate within? It can be achieved, but won’t happen overnight either, if achieved at all imo?
But that has to be our aim, especially as the theory remains the same?
And that if we remain the only club capable of playing at CL levels, then that should still be way too strong, for whatever anyone else can produce within Scottish football?
Many of the leagues within European football, doesn’t produce much competition within winning league titles these days. For ourselves within Scottish football, we have to remain in such a group, no matter how hard it’s becoming to attract the quality of player we require, to start advancing furthermore within European competition.
But without forming a better form of squad stability with core players involved, it remains as a hit and miss approach in operation for ourselves imo?
I agree totally Martin O’Neil is a club legend and has a wealth of experience that he used to great effect to win the double, my only worry is the board who caved in at the last minute from pressure from the fans ,other wise it would have been Rabbi tel aviv Keane that is nightmare scenario that was avoided
