Liel Abada looks set for a possible Celtic reunion in Greece, according to Tom Bogert…
Ange Postecoglou brought Liel Abada to Celtic in 2021
The Israeli international winger joined Celtic under the Ange Postecoglou revolution at Paradise back in the summer of 2021, when the Greek-Aussie moved to bring Liel from Maccabi Petah Tikva for £3.5 million.
Abada went on to forge a good career at Celtic Park, gaining popularity and acclaim alongside the likes of Jota and Kyogo Furuhashi, who were instrumental in the team’s resurgence, following a bitterly disappointing Covid-19 pandemic marred season, under Neil Lennon the term beforehand.
Abada always seemed to be in the right place at the right time
His success was mainly down to that knack of finding himself in the right place at the right time, always managing to be in space, particularly inside the opposition box.

That trait saw him really become a potent attacking weapon in Postecoglou’s arsenal at Paradise, as he often relied on Abada for key moments from the bench, to supplement Jota or Daizen Maeda. His goals against the newest Ibrox entity and Dundee United at home seem to be most memorable.
Abada left Celtic to join MLS side Charlotte FC
Liel did leave Celtic for a new challenge a few seasons ago now, when Charlotte FC of the MLS came calling.
Abada set for Celtic reunion at PAOK
Having been there for three years or so, the tricky winger is now said to be on the move again, this time potentially moving back to Europe, where he will have the opportunity to reconnect with Giorgios Giakoumakis and Greg Taylor at Greek outift PAOK, according to Tom Bogert.
The US journalist has claimed that Abada could join up with his former teammates this window, as PAOK have now opened talks with Charlotte FC about the prospect of signing the man who enjoyed a successful spell in Glasgow. Taking to social media site X, Bogert revealed:
“Sources: Greek side PAOK has opened talks with Charlotte FC to sign winger Liel Abada.
Other European teams interested as well.
Abada, 24, has made 77 apps for Charlotte after joining from Celtic in 2024.”
