Celtic are reportedly keeping a close eye on Tottenham Hotspur midfielder Alfie Devine as the Scottish champions assess potential additions ahead of the summer transfer window.

Devine impressed during a productive loan spell with Preston North End last season, contributing 14 goal involvements after finding the net eight times and providing six assists in the Championship.
The Lancashire club have the chance to secure the 21-year-old on a permanent basis through a £6 million clause included in the agreement with Spurs.
Although the fee would comfortably surpass Preston’s previous transfer record, the club are understood to be prepared to proceed after being impressed by his performances.
By activating the clause, Preston can now enter discussions over personal terms, but reports suggest they are unlikely to be alone in the race for his signature.
According to Football London, Celtic have emerged as one of several interested clubs, while recently relegated Wolves are also believed to be monitoring the situation.
A number of promotion-chasing Championship clubs are likewise said to be considering a move.
With just 12 months remaining on his Tottenham contract, Devine’s future appears increasingly likely to lie away from north London, with no indication that an extension is close.
Prior to his successful spell at Deepdale, the England youth international gained first-team experience during loan moves to Port Vale, Plymouth Argyle and Belgian outfit Westerlo.

Possibly a longshot, where the player and agent, can enter a bidding war, upon personal terms?
We don’t like them type of deals, where we prefer to leave plenty of room available for the improved contract, if a player is successful?
Would like to think that there is plenty of room available within our player wage budget still, especially with the costs involved within such a loan signing strategy taken last season imo?
So therefore, the player wage budget needs to be tidied up moreso, especially with the amount of outgoing players on the agenda?
If we can become more decisive, within our player budget, then the offering of potential contracts, should hopefully become easier as a result imo?
So if we are going to start becoming more decisive, upon a managerial judgement upon a player. Then potential contracts we are prepared to offer, should in theory run more smoothly?
But this low balling in contact situations, along with the price tag involved has to improve, especially with the scrambling around looking for players later within the transfer market?
Would have thought that at this stage, a fairly good idea, would already be in place, upon what player wage budget is actually available, within our club?
If not, then any potential manager will be operating with tied hands, upon any potential deals for any said players?
This is potentially the biggest change we require, within our structure of getting the work done that is required for ourselves?
As confidence is fairly low within our support, in how we operate, then any such deals looking like a longshot of actually happening imo?
There will be no shortage of names thrown around at this stage, but will amount to nothing until the managerial position is actually filled, so managerial decisions can actually start to take place?
As a lifelong spurs fan that supports celtic and has lived in Scotland for 25 years with a celtic supporting family I say get this deal done. Have followed him from a young age and hes a great technical player with good vision for a key pass and a goal threat. He’d thrive in this celtic team
