The interim Chairman used the club’s official channel to make the claims earlier today, in another communication that delivered virtually nothing of note, about what the intentions are going forward…
As has been said and written ad nauseam now, there is a massive rebuild and restructuring of the football club needing to take place, with it obvious things have become antiquated and stale within Celtic.
Football operations could do with a clean-out
Several high-profile stars need moving on, with Reo Hatate and Paulo Bernardo just a couple of the names that will be departing. Likewise, the boardroom and football operations could well do with a clean-out of its own.
The outrageous dithering over the new manager and subsequent default to a 74-year-old Martin O’Neill has done little, if anything, to quell supporter concerns as we approach mid-June.

Martin O’Neill is still without a backroom team, as regular staff from last year, in the form of Shaun Maloney and Mark Fotheringham, are said to have received derisory offers to stay and help the club they saved alongside their old gaffer last season.
It’s just another piece of evidence that suggests that this Celtic Board’s time has been and gone. Out-of-touch and completely blinded to the frustrations of nearly all the fanbase, one does wonder how this rebuild is possibly going to be achieved to the highest and most professional quality.

Meanwhile, the interim Chairman has been eager to tell the fans about how well they intend to back an ageing Martin O’Neill in the transfer market, after successive failures in recent times, despite arguments to the contrary.
Speaking to Gerry McCulloch, the principal shareholder’s shield said: “Absolutely, and that is very much part of the basis on which he’s wanted to come back, and we’ve wanted him to come back. It’s going to be a very active next few weeks, and we must come out of it with a stronger squad.”
Days into the summer rebuild and the club haven’t even sorted the manager’s backroom staff yet, it says little about the prospect of the season ahead being any different from the one just past.
Celtic have another golden ticket opportunity this August, to win a play-off and gain entry to the biggest club competition in world football. Last year, we were thoroughly and shockingly embarrassed on that stage, and Wilson et al. should all be ashamed for that debacle – along with everything else they have inflicted on a loyal and proud support.
I wouldn’t hold your breath though…

Not to have resolved Maloney and Fozzy being re-signed is nothing short of amateur and embarrassing.
MON himself has been nothing short of transparent and appreciative of his backroom team’s efforts and contribution toward success this year. Surely it’s obvious to the (plywood) board that this is a priority.
