Celtic have secured a victory on the road at Easter Rd to put pressure on Rangers and Hearts tomorrow. The Scottish Champions moved level at the top of the table thanks to a 2-1 win against the Hibees.
At the beginning of the second half, there was a flashpoint that led to Josh Campbell and Liam Scales being booked. However, it appeared that the Hibs midfielder was fortunate not to give away a penalty for a blatant push on Benji Nygren as he tried to shepherd the ball out of play.
This.
A clear massive push.
A penalty. pic.twitter.com/I0Y6Y8i8JG

Should Celtic have had a penalty?
It doesn’t impact the result as Iheanacho’s finish with less than twenty minutes remaining proved to be crucial.
Douglas Ross and Dickinson missed the red card incident after a shocking challenge from Jamie McGrath earlier in the first half. Don Robertson on VAR told his colleague to have a look at the pitch side monitor prompting the Irishman to get his marching orders. Ross then mistakenly flagged for Celtic’s opener through Daizen Maeda with VAR again confirming the goal.
However, the video assistant referee failed to spot the handball from Joe Newell on the stroke of half time as Hibs pulled level. This was a big moment in the game and fortunately it was not defining.

All the officials today where just awful and also need to be sent to spectators because how could you miss the hand ball for the hibs goal and blatant push on nygren in the hibs penalty area a bunch of blue supporters truly corrupt.
One of the worst VAR displays I have ever seen today.
Way beyond a joke, where simple and easy decisions, aided with technology, can get the likes so wrong.
It’s nothing more than blatant cheating, especially if it’s considered we get benefited for any simple and easy decisions that are eventually given in our favour?
Officials duty means applying the rules properly of the game?
Doesn’t apply within Scottish football, and the likes of the cheating officials is destroying the credibility of the Scottish game as a result?
Is it even possible for the standards to drop even further than they currently are?
Possibly not, but doesn’t excuse for the issue not getting addressed whatsoever imo?
100% a penalty. And although it did not effect the outcome of the match it could have contributed another goal to our goal difference. Incidentally Hibs goal was an obvious hand ball and should never have stood.
