Yang Hyun-jun jokingly conceded defeat in Celtic’s internal Goal of the Season award after Daizen Maeda’s spectacular strike against Ibrox club stole the spotlight at Celtic Park yesterday afternoon.

Although Yang was also on target during the 3-1 derby victory, his first-half equaliser was overshadowed by Maeda’s sensational overhead kick, which sealed the points for Martin O’Neill’s side in memorable fashion.
The aftermath of the game saw several Celtic players celebrate online, with social media quickly flooded by dressing-room reactions and post-match photos following the Hoops’ vital win.
Maeda’s Instagram post attracted huge attention from supporters and teammates, but it was Yang’s playful response that caught the eye.

Yang willing to pass over Goal of the Season award
“Take my Season Goal Award,” the South Korean winger commented, referencing the Goal of the Season prize he won at last week’s Player of the Year ceremony at The Hilton for his strike against Danny Rohl’s side earlier in the campaign.
Celtic now head into the final week of the Premiership season knowing back-to-back victories would guarantee a fifth consecutive league title.
Following Hearts’ 1-1 draw at Fir Park on Saturday evening, the Hoops remain firmly in contention ahead of their own trip to Motherwell before a potentially decisive final-day showdown with Hearts at Celtic Park.
