Sevilla interest in Luis Palma is growing, ahead of a potentially frenetic summer transfer window for Celtic…
The Honduran spent a season-long loan at Polish side Lech Poznan and the Ekstraklasa outift had included a pre-agree option-to-buy for the silky playmaker, thought to be in the region of €4 million.
It has now come to light that Poznan are trying desperately to negotiate this clause down with the Parkhead chiefs, as this kind of fee would certainly break their current transfer record.
Palma has enjoyed a great loan spell away from Celtic
Palma has enjoyed a great loan spell away from Celtic Park with the European club, managing regular minutes and racking up the goals and assists along the way. That form has alerted other clubs of his availability now though, whilst Lech are frantically trying to lower the purchase price on Luis.

Sevilla interest in Luis Palma has grown significantly
Whilst that has been ongoing, new information has come to light from Spanish source Alvaro De La Rocha, who claims that Sevilla interest has grown significantly in the South American winger, although no formal approach has been made as of yet.
La Rocha went on to suggest that Palma’s entourage are now firmly aware of the rising interest in their client from the La Liga side and that the Andalusian club are keeping a close eye on proceedings between the Bhoys and Lech Poznan.

“Confirmed: Sevilla FC is closely monitoring Luis Palma’s situation. The Andalusian club is keeping a close eye on the situation between Celtic and Lech Poznań, who are negotiating for the Honduran player but have yet to reach an agreement.
While there have been no formal contacts regarding his signing, it is clear that the player’s representatives are now aware of Sevilla’s interest.”
Celtic’s summer of transition
There are several players along with Luis who will be heading for the Paradise exit door this close season.
The key thing for Celtic is to get the best deal possible for the club, to ensure the funds are there for the significant rebuild that will be underway shortly – if we can get a new manager and structure in place first.
The likes of Maik Nawrocki, Daizen Maeda, Paulo Bernardo, Reo Hatate, and possibly more will all be following Luis in saying goodbye to the Five-in-Row Scottish Champions. That’s us past the halfway point lurking Bears!
