Celtic winger Sebastian Tounekti won his first title at Bodo/Glimt back home in Norway with just 600 fans allowed to attend due to the Covid pandemic…
Now that Tunisia international winger – who was raised in Norway – is dreaming about winning the Scottish Premiership a week on Saturday at Celtic Park in front of 60,000 supporters.
‘This race is unbelievable. It’s so exciting for everyone’
Like the rest of us, Tounekti is as engrossed in the thrilling Scottish Premiership title race which has just over a week to go. And the Celtic winger has noticed an increase in intensity and volume of support at the Celtic fans get into title winning mode.
“Here it is so different from that time in Bodo,” Tounekti observed as reported by Scottish Sun. “This race is unbelievable. It’s so exciting for everyone.

Incredible atmosphere at Celtic Park
“In recent matches there’s been a difference in the atmosphere at Celtic Park, especially the last game there which was incredible.
“When we arrived, with the bus, the fans were outside the ground singing and cheering for us. Inside the stadium was quite special too. The fans are going to be so big for us in these last few games.
“They give us everything and the noise they make is so good. As players and as a team it’s so important to have that support behind us. They will give us the extra push into these last games, that is for sure,” Tounekti said.
Jury still out on Tounekti
Tounekti has still to convince all supporters of his worth to the team, with little evidence in assists in particular to justify the hype surrounding his signing last summer. A few stand-out goals are on the plus side but as yet he’s as likely to find himself on the bench as in the starting XI.

Studying the Celtic legend James Forrest
He got the nod at Easter Road at the weekend, only be replaced after another underwhelming showing, by veteran winger James Forrest. Celtic’s most decorated player of all time is now seen as an impact player, coming on when Celtic are chasing a winner and Tounekti admits that he’s been playing close attention to the way the Celtic legend goes about his business.
“I’ve studied James and all of the wingers,” Tounekti said. “I’ve learned a lot from him. He’s a great person. He’s so humble. James has won so many trophies here and he’s a big legend at the club. It’s great to work with players like that.”
